Purpose

Scope

Focusing on the holistic manage­ment of appli­ca­tions, the AM Work­group addresses all stages of the soft­ware life­cycle, including deploy­ment, updates, secu­rity, and inter­op­er­ability. The Work­group builds on existing industry stan­dards to create an envi­ron­ment where appli­ca­tions can be inte­grated and managed smoothly within the Open Industry 4.0 frame­work. Their efforts contribute to a robust and secure appli­ca­tion ecosystem that is vital for the success of the broader Open Industry 4.0 goals.

Depen­den­cies

The CS Work­group main­tains regular synchro­niza­tion with other industry-focused Work­groups to ensure that the solu­tions devel­oped are aligned with the specific needs of different indus­tries. Close collab­o­ra­tion with the machine manu­fac­turing streams is partic­u­larly impor­tant in the initial phases, with plans to extend this collab­o­ra­tion to other Work­groups over time. This inter­con­nected approach helps to ensure that the solu­tions devel­oped are rele­vant and applic­able across a wide range of use cases.

Deliv­er­ables

Deliv­er­ables from the CS Work­group include commu­ni­ca­tion mate­rials that artic­u­late an overview and prior­i­ti­za­tion of use cases and require­ment sheets that inform the tech­nical commit­tees of the needs and chal­lenges faced by compo­nent suppliers. Addi­tion­ally, the Work­group supports early adop­tion projects, providing a prac­tical demon­stra­tion of how digital services can be inte­grated into existing value chains.
