We are now part of the OPEN Inno­Com­mu­nity

We have joined the OPEN Inno­Com­mu­nity, coor­di­nated by the Virtual Automa­tion Lab (VAL) at Hochschule Esslingen.
The OPEN Inno­Com­mu­nity is one of several Inno­va­tion­scom­mu­ni­ties estab­lished under the DATIp­ilot funding guide­line of the German Federal Ministry of Educa­tion and Research (BMBF). It connects compa­nies, research insti­tu­tions, and soft­ware providers to jointly develop digi­tally assisted, manu­fac­turer-inde­pen­dent solu­tions for indus­trial automa­tion and produc­tion.

The OPEN Commu­nity oper­ates as an open ecosystem with trans­parent partic­i­pa­tion. Ideas are submitted, discussed, and eval­u­ated during public Hyper-Pitch-Days. Members can contribute ideas, vote on project proposals, and collab­o­ra­tively shape the strategy and roadmap. Becoming a member is inten­tion­ally simple – currently, it can be done by directly contacting the manage­ment team at Hochschule Esslingen.

Through our partic­i­pa­tion, we support the creation of an open, commer­cially viable ecosystem for solu­tion finding in complex, hetero­ge­neous produc­tion envi­ron­ments.
We bring in our expe­ri­ence and refer­ence archi­tec­tures in areas such as Asset Admin­is­tra­tion Shells (AAS), Digital Twins, and data-driven service models, linking prac­tical imple­men­ta­tion with applied research and acad­emic devel­op­ment.

The next Hyper-Pitch-Day will take place on 2 December 2025 in Augs­burg (hosted by CADENAS).
Further Commu­nity Work­shops will follow, where members jointly refine the OPEN strategy and roadmap.

Being part of the OPEN Inno­Com­mu­nity gives our members new oppor­tu­ni­ties to connect inno­va­tion ideas with public funding and acad­emic part­ners. Together with the manage­ment team at Hochschule Esslingen, we can help prepare and posi­tion project ideas for upcoming Hyper-Pitch-Days – from defining the use case to aligning it with the DATIp­ilot frame­work.
This enables our commu­nity to turn ideas into funded projects faster, with direct access to expert guid­ance and a growing ecosystem of part­ners from industry and research.
