Why You Should Join Us — A Look at the Ongoing Projects

OnGoing
Projects

The OI4 Alliance is not just talking about digital transformation. It is actively building it. Through real-world projects and practical implementation, the OI4 Alliance brings together manufacturers, solution providers, and innovators to collaborate on scalable, open solutions for industrial digitalization. From interoperability to sustainability, the OI4 Alliance’s current projects cover a wide range of essential topics. And there is even more to follow! Be Ready.

Software Defined Automation (SDA) is reshaping industrial control by decoupling software from hardware. This allows for greater flexibility, faster deployment, and easier scaling. It is especially relevant for manufacturers looking to modernize without being tied to specific vendors.

Energy Monitoring per Workpiece helps companies measure energy consumption at the product level. This project supports transparent CO₂ tracking and enables optimization of both cost and sustainability.

Digital Calibration Certificates, based on the Asset Administration Shell (AAS), replace manual processes and isolated systems. They standardize the exchange of calibration data across company boundaries, making quality assurance more efficient and reliable.

Cross-Company AAS Transfer ensures that digital twins can move with physical assets when ownership or operational context changes. This enables consistent data continuity throughout the value chain.

The Digital Product Passport (DPP) project is building the foundation for structured product information across the entire lifecycle. From production to recycling, it supports regulatory compliance and enables new service models.

Why
join?

Being part of the OI4 Alliance means tackling these challenges together. Members collaborate on shared solutions, accelerate development, and reduce integration complexity. They also gain early access to reference implementations, community expertise, and practical insights that support long-term competitiveness.

Whether you are a machine builder, software provider, or manufacturing company, there is a project that matches your expertise and a community that benefits from your contribution.
