Purpose

The Appli­ca­tion Manage­ment Work­group is committed to ensure the smooth and secure oper­a­tion of soft­ware appli­ca­tions. This Work­group focuses on the complete life­cycle of appli­ca­tions, from deploy­ment and updates to ongoing manage­ment and secu­rity. By creating a frame­work that supports the inter­op­er­ability of diverse appli­ca­tions, the AM Work­group ensures that soft­ware from various vendors can func­tion together seam­lessly. This inte­gra­tion is crucial for main­taining the effi­ciency and secu­rity of the ecosystem, allowing busi­nesses to operate effec­tively without the risk of compat­i­bility issues or secu­rity breaches.

Scope

Focusing on the holistic manage­ment of appli­ca­tions, the AM Work­group addresses all stages of the soft­ware life­cycle, including deploy­ment, updates, secu­rity, and inter­op­er­ability. The Work­group builds on existing industry stan­dards to create an envi­ron­ment where appli­ca­tions can be inte­grated and managed smoothly within the Open Industry 4.0 frame­work. Depen­den­cies

The AM Work­group collab­o­rates with other tech­nical Work­groups, such as Open Edge Computing and Digital Twin, to ensure align­ment with the over­ar­ching archi­tec­tural frame­work. Close inter­ac­tion with the Indus­trial Cyber Secu­rity Work­group is also essen­tial to address poten­tial vulner­a­bil­i­ties and rein­force the secu­rity of appli­ca­tions.
