What Is the OI4 Next Bike and How Does It Connect to DPP?

The OI4 Next Bike is a demon­stra­tion project within the OI4 Alliance that show­cases how DPP can be applied to real-world prod­ucts. It is used to:

  • Illus­trate DPP concepts in a tangible way, tracking mate­rials, life­cycle data, and sustain­ability metrics.
  • Test and refine best prac­tices for data inte­gra­tion, cross-company collab­o­ra­tion, and regu­la­tory compli­ance.
  • Demon­strate how DPP connects with the Asset Admin­is­tra­tion Shell (AAS) to enable struc­tured data manage­ment across product life­cy­cles.
  • By using the Next Bike as a working example, OI4 Alliance members gain prac­tical insights into how DPP can be imple­mented across indus­tries.
