This year, we joined forces with our Danish partner SESAM to show­case what open, inter­op­er­able manu­fac­turing looks like when two strong commu­ni­ties work side by side. Together with our members, we brought “The Power of Many” to HI Tech & Industry Scan­di­navia in Herning. People kept stop­ping because the live robot cell and the UNS setup made it instantly clear how much is possible when both commu­ni­ties team up.

Robot Cell with Flight Recorder

Our robot cell demon­strator attracted contin­uous atten­tion throughout the event. Visi­tors expe­ri­enced how a KUKA cell becomes fully data-illu­mi­nated, enabling complete trans­parency of operations.The “flight recorder” concept made it clear: contin­uous data capture, visu­al­iza­tion, and anomaly tracing signif­i­cantly reduce down­time and sharpen effi­ciency — without complexity for the oper­ator. Live sessions ran throughout both days and quickly turned into conver­sa­tions about scaling open, data-driven automa­tion.

Unified Name­space (UNS)
by Tricloud & Rock­well Automa­tion

SESAM show­cased a strong and prac­tical UNS setup demon­strating how real-time data flows unlock new levels of manu­fac­turing intel­li­gence.
Across both days, visi­tors saw:

  • PLC-driven filling line data streaming into a shared name­space

  • Live OEE moni­toring powered by Tricloud

  • Secure, MQTT-based data exchange across systems

  • A concrete blue­print for AI-ready produc­tion setups

The time-slotted demo sessions were packed and sparked many follow-up conver­sa­tions on archi­tec­ture, scaling, and gover­nance.

Across two days, our joint pres­ence high­lighted what our ecosys­tems stand for:

The booth became a place where manu­fac­turers, inte­gra­tors, and tech­nology providers explored how OI4 and SESAM comple­ment each other — and how joint scenarios can accel­erate digital trans­for­ma­tion in Northern Europe and beyond.
