CRA in Prac­tice: Compli­ance, Archi­tec­ture and Compet­i­tive Advan­tage from a Real Indus­trial Project

The Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) is making secure updates, remote access and docu­mented secu­rity processes manda­tory require­ments for connected prod­ucts. Machine builders, compo­nent manu­fac­turers and automa­tion providers now face the chal­lenge of inte­grating Remote Device Manage­ment into their prod­ucts in a secure, inter­op­er­able and auditable way.

In this webinar, our members Jonas Kaltenbach and Vincenzo Crimi from doubleSlash share imple­men­ta­tion expe­ri­ence from a real indus­trial project. Using a prac­tical service scenario, where a tech­ni­cian in Germany performs remote main­te­nance on a machine located abroad, they demon­strate how approvals, secure access, logging and compli­ance can be managed throughout the entire support life­cycle.

Many indus­trial envi­ron­ments still rely on manual update processes, sepa­rate solu­tions for remote access and patch manage­ment, and have limited visi­bility into soft­ware versions across deployed devices. At the same time, the CRA requires timely secu­rity updates, integrity protec­tion for signed update pack­ages, docu­mented remote access and evidence that remains avail­able for years.

The session explains how these require­ments can be imple­mented in a prac­tical system archi­tec­ture that inte­grates with existing plat­forms, deploys updates within defined main­te­nance windows and main­tains complete audit trails for soft­ware changes and remote access activ­i­ties.

Drawing on expe­ri­ence from a real customer project, the speakers will combine prac­tical insights with lessons learned from the produc­tive use of the doubleSlash Update Manager, including a live demon­stra­tion. The webinar will conclude with a discus­sion of how compli­ance-driven archi­tec­ture can become a compet­i­tive advan­tage and support new busi­ness models such as Func­tion on Demand.
