The Open Industry 4.0 Alliance and the GAIA-X Foundation 

The alliance is informally and closely linked via individuals to the GAIA-X Foundation, a foundation that will put the European cloud and data infrastructure GAIA-X into practice

KG from Verl, Germany - took another major step towards the European digital infrastructure with the establishment of the GAIA-X Foundation. A German and French initiative around international cloud and data infrastructure, GAIA-X is designed to promote a secure, trustworthy data infrastructure in Brussels, thus also promoting the digital sovereignty of Europe. Initiatives for intralogistics in view of the coronavirus crisis

The demands placed on intralogistics are becoming ever more demanding as a result of crises such as the current COVID-19 pandemic and the trend towards individualisation right down to batch size 1, as opposed to survey findings from last year on production logistics among German SMEs by Swiss material flow specialist Interroll. The average degree of automation of internal material handling is only 53 per cent among the companies that were surveyed.
